A few words about Ekali, Athens

Ekali is the northernmost tip of the Athenian basin bordered on the southeast by Nea Erithraia, and Kifissia, on the west by Varybobi and the Thrakomakedones. To the north are Agios Stefanos, Drosia, Stamata and Rodopoli, while to the northeast is Dionysos. Access is possible via the Athens-Lamia highway and via Kifissias Avenue. Geographically, it is located at the northwestern foot of Mount Pentelikos, at its confluence with the Parnitha and the Kifissos River and is located at the northern exit of the basin to north-eastern Attica. The main districts of the municipality are Ano Ekali and the Journalists.

The population evolution of Ekali is moving at a relatively slow pace, due to the coordinated action of its inhabitants to maintain the original urban style of mild construction. It is a very popular and expensive area inhabited by people of higher income classes of Athens, mostly businessmen and industrialists.

The features of the area include the high standard architecture, the low building factor, the large percentage of private and municipal green, but also the excellent street plan which consists of a mixture of circular and straight roads interrupted by roundabouts, and length of the natural boundaries of the Pentelic landscape.

It is characterized as a pure residential area and any commercial activity within the residential area is prohibited. The commercial zone extends along the Athens-Lamia National Road, while the area is known for the "Ekali Club" which is a meeting and sports point of the residents of the complex.
