A few words about Alimos, Kalamaki Athens

Alimos is a modern coastal suburb located between Ymittos and the Saronic Gulf and it borders Paleo Faliro, Agios Dimitrios, Ilioupoli, Argyroupoli and Elliniko.

Alimos has a history of almost 5000 years. Thucydides, the great historian of antiquity, was born in the Municipality of Alimountos around 460 BC. Since 1984, the official emblem of the Municipality of Alimos is the figure of the great historian, while since 1985; a regular international scientific symposium on the subject of Thucydides has been established.

In the 60's the area from a quiet suburb becomes a modern city with rapid population growth. The settlements of public servants, customs officers, tax collectors, chemical engineers, etc. are created, but also the settlements of Kythera, Kefalonia, Constantinople and Egyptians.

Alimou Marina is the largest in the south-eastern Mediterranean and certainly the most popular in Greece. It has 1000 permanent boats, of which 50 seats for large yachts over 25 meters.
