A few words about Kifisia, Athens

The Municipal Unit of Kifissia borders west with the Municipalities of Metamorfosi, Acharnes and the Municipality of Lykovrysi, south with the Municipalities of Pefki, Marousi and Melissia, northeast with Ekali, and north with Nea Erithra.

Due to the fact that Kifissia is built in a pine-covered area, at the foot of Penteli, its climate is pleasant during the summer months, while in winter the cold is more noticeable than in other areas of Athens.

Kifissia, due to the healthy climate, the beautiful environment, the abundant waters and the relatively short distance from Athens, has been since ancient times a privileged place and a place of rest for the rich and noble.

The shopping centre is covered by an extensive network of sidewalks and bicycle paths and the settlement stretches from Parnitha and the Kifissos River to Penteliko.
A part of Kifissia has been characterized as a traditional settlement which means that it has maintained unchanged the image it had in the past as well as its local character.

In Kifissia, its peaceful neighbourhoods (Nea Kifissia, Kefalari, Politia, Kokkinaras, Strofili) are combined with an active market and relatively intense night entertainment. The residential centre has been developed around Platanon Square and the Kifissia Grove, where the modern shopping centre of the Municipality is located, which has been extended to Kefalari via Kolokotroni Street, which today is the most expensive commercial street in the northern suburbs.
