A few words about Pefki

The Municipality of Lykovrysi-Pefki is located in the Northern Sector of Athens. It was one of the smallest municipalities in Attica and is divided into southern (Kato Pefki) and northern (Ano Pefki). The name of the Municipality derives from the natural wealth of the area in the typical Mediterranean pine of Attica.

The model "Solar Village" is installed within the boundaries of the municipality, a district that was built and handed over to the beneficiaries of the Workers' Housing Organization. Despite its small area, it has large groves and many green areas, while it has a purely residential character. The "Solar Village" has 435 houses that have been designed with modern "solar architecture" and serve about 1,600 inhabitants.

In 1985 it was decided to cut off the water supply from the local water supply system and to connect Lykovrisi with the water supply of Athens. Residents are active in the large companies that are settling in, which are lowering unemployment rates during the transition from rural to industrial development. The first Gymnasium and Lyceum of the area is founded with the expansion of the Emerald School.
It is served by the neighbouring stations of the electric railway of Marousi, KAT, Irini and Neratziotissa.
