Masquerades roam the city; dancing and teasing in the local language idiom to the sounds of bronze compose a distinct, Dionysian setting. Lazarines is an Easter custom performed in villages of Kozani. The three days of Lazarus take place and its main feature is the absence of musical instruments in the dance and song of the "Lazarines".
On the 15th of August in Siatista the custom of the pilgrims on horseback is revived.
During the Christmas festivities until the Epiphany in Kozani, the custom of Momogero is revived, a popular event with ancient Greek roots.
