Thrakomakedones is an elegant residential area in the northern suburbs of the prefecture of Attica, near the foot of Mount Parnitha.
The term "Attica Thracian Macedonians" refers to a group of people who live in the Attica region of Greece and are originally from the region of Thrace or Macedonia. The term is associated with the migration flows and the origin of the people who have moved from these areas to the region of Attica.
In 1992 the area was awarded as the most beautiful area in Europe. In 2010, with the urban plan of Kallikrati, the area was again annexed to the municipality of Acharnon. In 2004, the Olympic Village was built for the Athens Olympic Games in the southern part of the area on land that belonged to Acharnes. In 2006, the Parnitha cable car was built, attracting many residents of the basin.
The community is quite sparsely populated (6,200 inhabitants in the 2011 census) and a large area of it is made up of common areas and pine tree zones. It has a purely residential character, circular layout with wide neighborhood streets.
